Samson is my autistic brother's emotional support cat, lives with my family alongside our 2 dogs and 2 other cats. We are low-income but we provide the best we can for our animals. Samson is the mischievous one of the bunch who is always up to something or is annoying his brother or sisters for his own enjoyment. Throughout it all he has provided us with many laughs and hours of enjoyment.

Samson suffered a total urinary blockage that nearly stopped his heart on 5/19 & began harming his kidneys. He was seen at his vet Romie Lane Pet Hospital & an emergency vet BluePearl Pet Hospital for this blockage before being released on 5/21. Within 2 days he reblocked & on 5/25 he was returned to the ER vet before being transferred to Atascadero Pet Hospital on 5/26 to continue his care.

Samson is my autistic brother's emotional support cat, but calling him that seems inadequate. He has helped my brother deal with loneliness stemming from bullying/exclusion due to his autism diagnosis by giving him pure and unconditional love and non-judgemental friendship, offering him the ability to emotionally regulate and manage himself when he is in distress, and has been his lifeline.

I am low-income with my own disabilities that make working a bit challenging; being low-income and financially struggling has made it difficult to pay for Samson's medical bills but I don't want my brother to lose his best friend who has helped him more than anyone else has
