Rocket is a 6-year-old Pit Bull in Hillside, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Surgery .

Rocket came into my life as an accident. The original owner got him without doing any research of being a dog owner or the responsibility of owning a dog. So from day one, I was the one taking the responsibility of Rocket; from feeding him, potty training him, and taking him on walks everyday.

Rocket is a loving dog. He loves being around people and meeting new people. Rocket loves being around my little sister because as a puppy she would play with him. But for everyone else, it took them a little bit of time to get used to having an animal in the household, because they were not really used to have animals around.

I lost my job a while back because of the pandemic. I have been applying for work but nothing came up. I asked my family and friends but they said to deal with it on your own or they didn't have the money to help pay for the surgery.

Over the weekend Rocket broke his right back leg from playing outside with his original owner. He wasn't paying attention while there were outside and Rocket got his leg caught on something. And now he needs emergency surgery to repair the shattered femur or amputation. I have been in contact with multiple veterinarian hospitals and orthopedic surgeons about his situation.

My dog is special to me because there was a point in my life where everything wasn't going my way. I suffer from depression, I really had no one to turn to or even talk to. I felt lonely, but I really don't know why felt this way. Nevertheless, I don't know how or why my dog knew something was wrong. He would just be there for me as a best friend.
