Sandra was adopted as part of a BOGO event from Miami-Dade Animal services. We returned to pick her up the day after bringing Bingo (the pictured tuxedo) home because she needed to be fixed, so we had to wait a day to bring her home. It took her over a year to fully acclimate to us and come out of her shell. Her shelter name was Sandra Bullock, and because I'm a huge SPEED fan, we kept her name.

She is currently having some kind of mouth issue. She is refusing anyone touching it, opening it, looking inside it. The vet thinks it is some kind of dental issue, because from what little we could see, it is inflamed and she is not eating solid food. Sandra loves me and my domestic partner, Matt. She loves to hang out in his chair with him a lot of the time. In the evenings, she hangs out with me on the couch and loves to headbutt me in the face so I will kiss her head. She is very sensitive and quiet. She wasn't feeling well and not eating well after a string of recent losses and I thought it might be depression, so we got her looked at.

Matt lost his job on NYE and we've had to wait for his disability claim to go through, all the while I had to work on keeping the household afloat with plasma donating, secret shopping, etc. He is battling IPF, and I am also his caretaker. Sandra is very much an ESA for him.
