About this campaign
We were given Sandy by one of my Fiancé's students when she was 2 months old and have had her since then. We live in Long Beach, CA. It is myself (Dad), my fiance, and her new little human sister that is 2 months old. Sandy enjoyed our daily walks before work to the park to play with her friends. Her favorite thing to do is swim, whether at the beach or in a pool.
Sandy is the friendliest happiest dog I have ever had. She gets along great with everyone she meets, human or animal. She loves meeting new people and even has a group of regular elderly people she greets on our afternoon walks. She has become quite fond of her little sister. Whenever the baby cries Sandy comes into room looking to see what is a matter. She loves to sit on our porch and greet too!
I call her the Mayor because she has to greet everyone she sees. Taking her on walks is the best. I get to see the joy she brings people when her tail wags unrollable and her body wiggles out of excitement. She loves to cuddle with us at night while watching TV, but her favorite thing is weekend mornings when we can all pile in the bed and fall back asleep.
Sandy has unfortunately torn both her ACLs in her hind legs. She had hurt her right leg and rested for a month. It looked she had recovered, but she is very active and reinjured herself. Our normal Vet examined her and consulted with two surgeons to confirm.
Sandy needs two surgeries that are estimated at almost $4,000 each. We do have some money saved up, but we just had a baby and are planning our wedding. It was just really bad timing and really could use some help. Sandy has become depressed and we want to fix her ASAP.
