This is my best friend. I got her when she was just a puppy from a Craigslist ad asking $25. It was 100% the best $25 I'd ever spent! She was my first dog and we bonded immediately. She has been an amazing dog and part of our family since she was 6 months old. We have another pup and 2 cats and everyone gets along wonderfully like a family should, contrary to the myth that cats and dogs fight :)

When we first got our puppy we tried to go the crate route. We found out very quickly that wasn't going to work. She would cry all night and hated to be alone. So the next thing we tried was a dog bed. This also didn't work for her. So for the past 8+ years my dog has slept in bed with my wife and I, along with our other dog. She also lays with us on the couch whenever we are watching tv.

Sandy is always a very loving and chill dog. She loves things most dog's love like going for walks, car rides, and visits from friends and family. She also gets along great with her little sister and 2 other cats. She always loves to be close to anyone in our family and has never had any type of destructive or violent behavioral issues. She is the sweetest calm dog you can meet and we love her!

My dog has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. 2 months ago I took her to a pet ER where they drained her belly of fluid (due to a weak heart) and put her on some meds. The belly draining had an instant impact on her pain , comfort, energy, appetite, and ability to breathe. Unfortunately it is a chronic illness and she needs another belly draining now and probably a 3rd down the line.

The belly tap (abdominocentesis) is only done at costly specialized vet ERs. It is close to $800 each time and lasts approx. 2 months before she blows up again and cannot move. She doesn't have a lot of time left but it would be a godsend to make her comfortable again.
