About this campaign
Santi is a 2-year-old mixed-breed shorthair male tabby. My spouse and I found him in the middle lane during our commute after he was hit by a car and left for dead. He is microchipped, but appears to have been abandoned for some time. We couldn’t just leave him, so we took responsibility for him.
On Friday, Dec 12 around 8:30 AM, Santi was hit by a car. We rushed him to Lead ER Pet Hospital, treated by Dr. Phillip and the entire vet team. He was stabilized, and exams showed a fractured skull, broken jaw, and air in his chest. He will likely need surgery to repair his jaw/skull so he can heal.
Even injured, Santi has been gentle and brave. He purrs and slow-blinks at the staff who care for him, showing trust despite the pain. He also has extra thumbs—his white paws look like little mittens. In such a short time, he’s shown us he’s a loving fighter who deserves a real chance.
We’ve already used our emergency fund and maxed our CareCredit to cover most of Santi’s care, but surgery and ongoing treatment cost more than we can handle alone. Any help means he can get the procedures he needs and come home to healthy recovery.
