Saoirse is a 1-year-old Newfoundland in Saylorsburg, PA, who needs $2,000 for bilateral shoulder and elbow surgery.

Saoirse became lame at 5 1/2 months old. She is the second puppy of a litter of three. I have her mother and used a stud from the breeder I had purchased her mother. I have kept all three puppies from this litter due to extensive inherited health issues. Saoirse has severe orthopedic issues, her younger sister has severe SAS with a grade 5/6 murmur and cardiac thrill. The cardiology vet stated she may not see her first birthday even if she responds well to treatment. Her brother developed a heart murmur after initially being cleared, and also has bilateral cherry eyes. He has had one surgery to repair one eye, which may require a second operation, but will not obtain cardiac clearance at this time.
Saoirse is a bright alert smart girl who interacts with her littermates and other dogs present in the house. She is happy and loving, but has a persistent limp even with medication
