About this campaign
Sapphire was adopted during COVID. “Sappy” as she is lovingly called, was quite timid at first, but now loves to play and snuggle with all of us alongside her doggy brother, Mac. As my husband works from home, she roams the house as she pleases and enjoys a large fenced yard. Sappy will paw at you until you shake her hand or stroke her head, and has brought my family much joy and love.
At a checkup, our vet at Hamilton Crossing Animal Hospital found a mass in her abdomen. We scheduled surgery over the holidays so we could be off during her recovery. We got devastating news the morning of her surgery-the mass had grown. The vet was unable to remove it due to the lack of equipment. Her bloodwork is good, but the mass could burst at any time.
In four years, Sappy has blossomed into the gentle heart of our precious family. Her charm and tender spirit leaves all who love on her touched by her sweetness. She was by my side through two breast cancer surgeries to help comfort me. We know she deserves the right to have a long life of unconditional love.
Our vet works with a traveling surgeon, that can do it for $3K. Other vets are $5K-$8K. But as with most families we know, a $3K vet bill is out of our reach. We have exhausted all means to find the extra funds for saving her life so we are humbling asking for your help.
