My former roommates rescued her from the IHOP parking lot a few months before I moved in. She was a skittish, skinny little pancake, and we bonded instantly. My proudest achievement is making a home for her safe enough that she came out of her shell.

Sarah's currently being treated at Neel Veterinary Hospital. We're still not sure what the cause is, but she's seriously anemic and needs a blood transfusion and a battery of tests at minimum.

She's a chatty girl, communicating in chirps and barks instead of proper meows. Whenever she's excited she runs straight to a cardboard scratcher, and feather toys are by far her favorite. She's a big fan of cuddling and of stealing cheese. She tends to prefer the humans to her fellow cats, but there will be moments where she and her brother Sherry curl up together and groom.

The pandemic hit us hard--I lost my job and we had to move twice rapid fire. On top of that I've struggled with chronic illness for years. Prescription and doctor copays, expensive tests, and the odd emergency surgery make it hard to build up a substantial savings.
