About this campaign
Before coming to live with me, his previous owner suffered from some serious health issues and wanted to find him a good home. He has such a Charlie Brown personality, that I have renamed him, Charlie Brown! There are some dogs that just "click" with a person. Charlie and I just clicked from the start! He is a single dog and gets TONS of love and attention!
Charlie Brown is amazingly laid back, easy-going loves everyone and his belly rubs! While he doesn't have any other animal siblings, he doesn't mind since he is spoiled with love and attention. As much as we can with COVID, we stop in and say "hi" at pet stores, Lowe's, and anywhere we can go to meet new friends! Charlie loves new people, but understands "calm!"
Being medically disabled and laid off from my part-time has been difficult. I was able to afford his first vet visit but the extra cost for x-rays is not something I have to spare. Having Charlie Brown be healthy and able to run again and play ball, would be everything to us!
Dr. Liz Orien (Port Orchard Animal Hospital) gave Charlie's first visit a clean bill of health ...except for his rear right leg. Dr. Liz believes that there may be a cranial cruciate injury, partial or complete. In order to verify the concern, x-rays and sedation are being recommended. Radiology will also tell us if surgery is needed to fix his leg. He is currently on Carprofen 2x a day for pain.
Charlie makes me smile all day! But like so many others, being diagnosed with PTSD sometimes interferes with being around lots of people. But Charlie seems to already know this. He stays right by my side and just slightly nudges my hand. He has that lab grin that is heartwarming! Our goal is a service dog certification so he can help others like me!
