Sascha is a five-month-old German Shepherd pup in Fortuna, CA, who needs $1,000 for urgent care.

Esthefany S. and her children are distraught. Their puppy, Sascha, is in dire need of medical care that her family can't afford.

"I am a single mom to two boys and this girly," Esthefany tells Waggle. "She had an incident today where she hurt her hind leg. I am on a fixed income, and all my credit cards are maxed out due to Covid. It is breaking my heart! I absolutely love her."

If the family can raise the money, the plan is to have Sascha treated at the Sunny Brae Animal Clinic.

"I am a single mother who barely got a new job and isn't eligible for a pay increase until mid-August," Esthefany says. "I live in California, and the gas prices are $6.25 a gallon. I commute to work 25 miles, one-way daily."

During the short time the family has had Sascha, she has lit up their lives and formed a remarkable relationship with one of Esthefany's sons.

"She adores my little one and has created a bond with him that actually helps his ADHD," Esthefany says. "He also has episodes of anxiety, and she helps him tremendously by bringing him back from his episodes. So with Sascha's incident, my (own) anxiety level is going through the roof. I only want what's best for her, and I don't want her to be in any pain."
