Sassy is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in East Brunswick, NJ, who needs $1,400 for Multiple Dental Extractions.

Sassy, the cat formerly known as Thyme, came to us in December of 2020. At the time, she was a temporary foster, while the rescue she was with dealt with some issues that they were having. She had lived with her human, an elderly gentleman, since birth. When he passed, his adult children took her to a shelter where she did not do well at all. She was accustomed to her male human, no other pets.

Sassy came to us and we immediately noticed she had extremely foul breath. She had difficulty eating, drooled a lot and often cried out in pain while eating. The rescue told us that she had feline chronic gingivo-stomatitis and would be taken to a vet immediately. When that did not happen, we took her to a vet for an official diagnosis. She is now treated at East Brunswick Animal Hospital.

Imagine losing the one human you have ever known, then being thrown in a shelter surrounded by other cats. Sassy did not deserve that, nor did she deserve to suffer with severe mouth pain. She has claimed my husband as her human and lets him know that he is the chosen one! She sleeps with him, follows him everywhere he goes, lets him love on her while I am sometimes allowed a small pet!

$1,850 was the total cost and our Nationwide pet insurance won't cover it as it is pre existing. My husband and I are both veterans, were homeless for 2 years and have been meaningfully employed for 3 years. We want our girl to be pain free but simply cannot afford 1850!
