Sassy's world changed in an instant. This sweet 7-year-old cat survived a devastating house fire that destroyed her home, while her beloved owner suffered a broken hip and, with no other choice, made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her cherished companion.
Thanks to the quick response of Columbia County Animal Enforcement, Sassy was brought to The Ranch Rescue, where she is finally safe and receiving the care she desperately needs.
Despite everything she has endured, Sassy remains incredibly affectionate and trusting, quickly winning the hearts of everyone she meets. She is scheduled for a full veterinary evaluation and will need diagnostics, medications, treatment for her injuries, and surgery, including being spayed, before she can begin searching for a new forever home.
The Ranch Rescue is asking for your help to cover the cost of Sassy's medical care so she can heal and get the second chance she deserves. Every tax-deductible donation, no matter the amount, brings Sassy one step closer to recovery and a loving future. Sassy has already been through more than any cat should have to endure. After surviving the devastating house fire that destroyed her home and being separated from the family she knew and loved, this sweet 7-year-old girl was brought to The Ranch Rescue, where she is finally safe.
But Sassy’s road to recovery is taking a little longer than hoped.
Sassy has developed a bit of a cold and is currently being treated with amoxicillin drops. She also has a few spots from her injuries that are still not healing as they should, so her veterinary team is continuing to monitor her closely.
There is another important part of Sassy’s evaluation that will have to wait. Because she currently has an active upper respiratory infection, the vet is unable to properly check her lungs right now. They will need to wait approximately another week before that portion of her evaluation can be completed.
For now, Sassy is being given the time, medication, and care she needs to get through this latest setback. ❤️🩹
Through it all, this incredibly affectionate girl continues to show the gentle spirit that has made everyone at The Ranch Rescue fall in love with her. After losing her home and being separated from her family, Sassy deserves nothing less than the chance to heal safely and begin the next chapter of her life.
