About this campaign
When a Good Samaritan arrived at a residence to repossess stolen property, they never expected to find a heartbreaking scene that would change a life forever. In the corner of the cluttered space, Sawyer's eyes pleaded for mercy. Her skeleton frame frail and broken. Thankfully, animal control was called and Sawyer was taken into the care of One by One Animal Advocates.
She was so emaciated that the vet gave her the lowest possible body score of only 1 out of 9 on the body condition scale—severely emaciated, suffering from extreme muscle wasting, and barely clinging to life. Desperate to survive, she had been eating whatever she could find. Her stomach was filled with plastic, debris, and trash.
On top of it all, an old, untreated fracture in her growth plate has left her leg severely damaged, making every movement agonizing. She is unable to bear weight and screams out in pain when she tries. Surgery is required, but the truth is, Sawyer isn’t even strong enough for surgery yet. Her body is too fragile, too malnourished, and even vaccines must wait until she gains weight and stabilizes.
Sawyer has suffered alone for too long, but now she has a chance. One By One Animal Advocates is committed to giving her the care she desperately needs, but can’t do it without you. With your support, Sawyer can be provided the nutrition, medical care, and surgery that will give her a real shot at life.
She has already shown she is a fighter- now she just needs a little help to keep fighting.
