About this campaign

Scooter is a resilient 7-month-old kitten we adopted 3 weeks ago. We knew he was blind from cataracts, but his spirit blew us away. He navigates by feeling his way around furniture and other pets, often bumping into walls. Despite his world being dark, he is a brave explorer who has quickly become a beloved member of our household, bringing so much joy to our daily lives.

During his neuter, we found Scooter has Type 1 Diabetes and severe eye pressure (IOP 88/38). He now needs daily insulin and 5x daily eye drops. Specialists recommend surgery to remove the cataracts and restore his sight. The Western College of Veterinary Medicine estimate is $6,158.45, plus ongoing costs for his diabetic care and follow-ups.

Scooter is a fighter who loves life! Since starting treatment, he’s become a playful "snuggle bug" who loves climbing his tower and chasing tennis balls he can hear and feel. Even when he was in pain before his diagnosis, he never stopped being friendly. He is a resilient, cuddly soul who uses his paws to "see" the world, and we want him to finally be able to see the family that loves him.

As new owners, the $6k+ surgery cost on top of lifelong diabetic care is a massive hurdle. This surgery would change everything—removing his pain and letting him finally see the world clearly. It would mean he can run and jump without fear. Thank you for helping our boy!
