About this campaign

Late one night, Scotty was left outside the gate at ACF Animal Rescue. He sat in the emergency drop-off cage, staring out through the metal grills — barely able to see. One eye was covered by a massive, devastating wound that spread across much of his face. He was skinny, starving, dehydrated, and clearly in unbearable pain.

From what we understand, Scotty had been held down and beaten very severely. The trauma he endured left him physically broken and emotionally shut down. When we found him, we truly didn’t think he was going to make it. But Scotty is still here.

Slowly, day by day, he has begun to improve. His body is healing, and he’s now in a much better place than the night he arrived. Still, the emotional scars remain. Scotty is quiet and reserved — an introvert who prefers to sit alone in a corner, always alert, watching everything around him. He wants to know what everyone is doing, but he’s not ready to join in just yet. He doesn’t fully trust people. Not yet. And after what he’s been through, can you blame him?

What Scotty needs now is time, patience, and gentle care. He needs to learn that hands can be kind, that voices can be soft, and that the world is not always a place of fear.

Your support can help us continue Scotty’s healing journey — both physically and emotionally. From medical care to daily comfort, every donation helps us give him the safety he deserves. Scotty survived the worst. Now we just need to show him that better days are ahead.

5/12/26 Update

When Scotty first arrived at ACF Animal Rescue, we truly weren’t sure if he would survive. The injuries he suffered were horrific, and the emotional trauma ran just as deep. But somehow, despite everything that was done to him, Scotty kept fighting.

Today, we’re relieved to say that Scotty is continuing to heal and is settling in well at the sanctuary. He is still receiving ongoing treatment for the large wound on his face, and his recovery is far from over, but he is in good spirits and becoming more comfortable with his surroundings every day.

Scotty remains a quiet, observant soul. He likes to keep an eye on everything happening around him and is slowly learning that he is finally safe. While he still carries understandable fear and uncertainty, we are beginning to see glimpses of curiosity, comfort, and trust emerging through the trauma.

Healing from abuse takes time — not just physically, but emotionally too. Scotty needs continued medical care, patience, proper nutrition, and a safe place where he can recover at his own pace without fear.

We are so grateful to everyone who has supported Scotty’s journey so far. Your donations, shares, and kind words have helped give this boy a real chance at healing. If you would like to continue helping Scotty as he recovers, donations toward his ongoing medical treatment and sanctuary care are deeply appreciated.

Scotty survived unimaginable cruelty. Now, together, we can help him discover what kindness feels like

6/12/26 Update

Because of your incredible generosity, Scotty's fundraiser has come to a close — and we are so grateful for every person who stood beside him on this journey.

When Scotty arrived at ACF Animal Rescue, he was one of the most heartbreaking cases we had ever seen. Left alone outside our gate, severely injured, starving, dehydrated, and carrying unimaginable trauma, his future was uncertain. The wounds on his face told a story of cruelty no animal should ever endure, and there were moments when we feared he would not survive. But Scotty proved to be stronger than anyone could have imagined.

Today, Scotty is safe. His physical wounds have continued to heal, and while some scars may remain, he is no longer living in pain and fear. He has settled into sanctuary life, where he can recover at his own pace surrounded by people who respect his boundaries and care for him unconditionally.

Scotty is still the quiet observer he has always been. He prefers to watch from a comfortable spot, taking in everything around him before deciding whether to participate. Trust does not come easily for a cat who has experienced such profound cruelty, but little by little, he is learning that he no longer has to be afraid. We see moments of curiosity, comfort, and even contentment that simply weren't there when he first arrived.

While his emotional healing will continue for some time, Scotty now has something he never had before: safety, stability, and a future.

None of this would have been possible without you. Your donations helped provide medical treatment, nutritious food, daily care, and the sanctuary environment Scotty needed to begin putting his painful past behind him. More importantly, your support showed Scotty that there are far more kind people in this world than cruel ones.

From all of us at ACF Animal Rescue, thank you for believing in Scotty when he needed it most. Because of you, his story is no longer defined by abuse and suffering — it is defined by resilience, compassion, and hope.

Scotty's journey is far from over, but thanks to your support, it is finally headed in the right direction.
