About this campaign
Scout was up for adoption at the Maricopa County Animal Shelter. He was 40lbs at the time and when he came into the room he completely released his bladder onto the floor, showing me he was not walked enough. He came to me and licked me, he was so excited to see people. I took him home 3 days later. I fed him and loved him up to 77lbs!!❤️
Scout LOVES people. He licks them, comforts them. Barks at us when he wants something. We taught him to speak and now he yells at us, it's very funny. He loves to cuddle me on the bed and always has to be near me. He's my buddy. We've always been so connected, I feel as if he is my familiar. He always knows when I'm sad or upset and is right there to love on mama.
My boyfriend and I are both mentally ill. I also have chronic pain. I receive disability payments, but due to unfortunate events I have been overdrafted for two months and at risk of losing my home. My boyfriend is struggling with his mental illness so badly he can't work.
Scout was snoring very loudly for about a week. I then took him to the vet where he was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was told not to see an oncologist because it is expensive, but I wanted him to survive and thrive. So I took him to Arizona Veterinary Oncology where he currently receives treatment. His vet's name is Dr. Lynda Beaver.
Scout loves me sooooo much. And I love him just as much. I've never felt so much love from a dog. Now I know why people love dogs so much! Scout loves to talk back to me, and he will refuse to go on a walk until I go! It's so cute. I have depression and sometimes I can't even get out of bed, but he forces me to be active. I'm very grateful.
