Scout is a 10 year old Siberian Husky in Alexandria, VA, who needs $1,000 for Stitches Under Sedation.

Scout's arrival to our family was a miracle. I adopted an adult Husky, Sami, and kept my eye out for a possible second dog. Months later, I saw a picture of Scout and just KNEW I had to get her. I adopted her off the van immediately. We became the closest family of 3. A year later, I got their DNA done, and it was a miracle - Scout was Sami's MOM! No one had any clue (except maybe Scout & Sami)!

Scout, unfortunately, had a lot of medical needs as a submissive and senior dog. She had obviously been the victim of several dog attacks, causing irreversible ear damage, loss of most of her teeth, and several scars. She was showing such a turn for the better until another dog turned on her at the dog park. Not able to defend herself, Scout obtained a large laceration on her cheek.

Scout is a mom through-and-through! She loves to police other dogs, howl when things get a little too rambunxious, and is drawn to little dogs (do they remind her of her old litters?). After a long, tough life, she loves nothing more than sunbathing and be pet by any human!

Through a divorce, solo move, and job loss, I've tried to do whatever it takes to take care of my dogs. However, I am not able to cover a sudden emergency and could not get Scout's laceration stitched by a vet. It breaks my heart to see her have to deal with this again.
