About this campaign
We adopted Scout from C.A.R.E just a few days after her amputation. Scout was found dumped on the side of the road with a badly broken arm. This led to her getting her arm amputated, and becoming a tripawd. Given that adorable face, and her rambunctious attitude, there was no doubt in our minds that she belonged in our family.
Scout is one of the most energetic dogs you will ever encounter. Although she only has three legs, you would never be able to tell by the way she acts. She is always biting on her brother's neck, juking him out, or running circles around the couch in a fit of zoomies. Yet, she is also the biggest cuddle bug with her nickname being "licky-lick" as she is the BIGGEST face licker.
Although she had a rough start to life, that doesn't exempt her from her princess behavior. She might be a lover, but boy is she stubborn. When we first got her we had to try 4/5 food brands until she found the one she liked (only fish will do, no poultry). If she doesn't feel like walking anymore she'll just plop down right there. Our king sized bed? You mean HER bed.
Given her energetic behavior, Scout unfortunately has torn her CCL/ACL, and since she is a tripawd as it is, she is basically down to two legs. She is being treated by Dr. Brain Thunberg (based in Bloomington, IN). During x-rays to prepare for surgery, we also discovered that Scout suffers from hip dysplasia, as well as arthritis.
I am a graduate student, who, well, lives on a graduate budget. Since, getting Scout she has been one of the primary (if not sole) sources of my happiness, and I just want to provide her with the best life possible. She already has suffered enough.
