About this campaign
US Dog Coalition and Rescue
Scout was born into backyard breeder hell. At 17 weeks old, he was an owner surrender, meaning he was adopted and returned. Humans failed this little baby, shuffling him from one place to the next, like he was an object, not treating him with the love and care he deserved. He had no stability, resulting in a lot of anxiety. At six months, it landed him in the ER, with a dangerously high fever.
US Dog Coalition and Rescue intervened to get Scout the life-saving care he needed. At just 5 pounds, Scout was fighting for his life for several days at an emergency hospital with a fever, infection, lethargy, no appetite, and dangerously low blood pressure. At one point, his blood pressure was so low they could not even detect a pulse. But, Scout fought hard to live.
Scout was ultimately diagnosed with gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach and intestines. He also had a very light case of hookworms. The combination of the stress he had endured in his short life plus the hookworms is most likely what caused his sickness. Thankfully, Scout now rests easily in a foster home recovering. He is a shy boy, taking a second to realize he is no longer being poked with needles. He is the absolute sweetest.
US Dog Coalition and Rescue is determined to make things right for Scout and show him that he is worthy! Please consider donating to help support their mission to turn things around for this little guy.
