Scruff was found in heartbreaking condition. Tied to a rock with a leash so short he could barely move, his tiny body was emaciated, starved, and severely dehydrated. His collar was so tight it dug into his neck, making each breath a struggle. Matted fur clung to his frail frame, infested with fleas, dirt, and ticks, a upsetting testament to the neglect he had endured.

ACF Animal Rescue found Scruff just in time. They gently freed him from his restraints and rushed him to safety. With a soothing bath and much-needed grooming, Scruff began to transform. Underneath the grime and tangles was a beautiful dog, full of life and gratitude. His tail wagged, his eyes brightened, and for the first time in a long while, he felt safe and loved.

Yet, Scruff’s journey to recovery is far from over.

A thorough medical examination revealed heartbreaking news. Scruff has an enlarged heart, likely due to the immense stress and malnutrition he suffered. He also has a serious liver infection, and his body is struggling from prolonged starvation, causing internal issues that need urgent medical attention.
