Scully came into the care of ACF Animal Rescue in devastating condition. His face told a story of unimaginable pain — his eye had been severely injured, as if a sharp object had been taken to his face. It’s the kind of injury no animal should ever endure, and we can only guess how long he suffered before someone finally stepped in to help.

When we first rescued him, Scully was terrified. Every movement made him flinch, every attempt to help him was met with fear. He wasn’t aggressive — just deeply wounded, confused, and expecting more harm. It took patience, gentleness, and time… but slowly, Scully began to let us in.

With careful medical treatment, his eye and facial wounds are beginning to heal. He is eating and drinking well, and he’s finally feeling strong enough to relax without fear. And the most heartwarming change of all? Scully is starting to trust us. He’s even allowing gentle brushing — a huge step for a dog who once recoiled at every touch.

Scully now spends his days resting comfortably in a small, quiet room where he feels safe for the first time in a very long time. He’s not ready for a busy environment yet, but he is healing — both physically and emotionally — at his own pace.

His medical care is ongoing, and the treatment for his eye injury, pain management, follow-up vet visits, and continued rehabilitation come with significant costs. Scully has endured more than any animal should, but he’s finally beginning to believe that he is safe — and that people can be kind.

We are in awe of the incredible recovery Scully has had! He is healing so well and we are just so happy to have him and see him thriving. He is now full of life and trusting people again. He cannot stop wagging his tail.

Scully continues to amaze us with his recovery, and we are overwhelmed with gratitude and joy as we watch him thrive. His healing has been nothing short of miraculous.

Not only is Scully recovering beautifully from his injuries, but the fear that once lived in his body is gone. He is comfortable, relaxed, and trusting — wagging his tail freely and greeting each day with a calm confidence we once could only hope for.

Scully is loving the winter weather here, which has been the perfect balance for him — not too hot, not too cold. He spends his days soaking up the winter sun, resting peacefully, and finally enjoying the simple comfort of being safe. For the first time, he can truly relax.

Most importantly, Scully is no longer in pain. Seeing him at ease, content, and living his best life is the greatest reward we could ask for after everything he has endured.
