About this campaign
Scully is one of the more gruesome cases One By One Animal Advocates has ever seen.
"Scully was a local community cat," Heather A., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "He showed up on the doorstep of a family gravely injured. They could see that his bone was exposed on one of his legs. Without any medical knowledge or experience, they bandaged his leg with the exposed bone, which stayed that way for four days. Untouched and untreated."
Heather says during that time, the injury began to fester. "Scully chewed through his ace bandage and kept going, even when it was his own leg. The amount of pain Scully must have been in is unimaginable. We are astounded that he did not go into shock or pass due to the severe neglect of care," she says.
One By One saved him and rushed him to the animal hospital. "He was in so much pain when he was first brought in that he could not be handled," Heather says. "We cannot blame him, but we are still in disbelief at how his injuries occurred in the first place. He is a fighter, that is for sure."
Unfortunately, due to the hideous condition of Scully's leg, his medical team at Proctorville Animal Clinic needs to amputate his leg. It's the only way to ensure the infection does not spread, and he has a good quality of life.
Please help One By One raise the money for poor Scully's surgery and save him from the neglect he endured.
