About this campaign
My wife, Alma, and I got Miss Serenity from a cattery. She was too old for the owner to continue to breed her, so she wanted to give her up. The Holy Spirit told both of us to get Serenity, a beautiful white Siamese, out of that situation. We have a total of four cats--Serenity, Shadow, Solstice, and Spirit--and they all get along well together for the most part.
We need to get Serenity spayed in order to prevent infections, lower the risk of cancer, and treat behaviors that keep us up at night (excessive vocalization, scratching the furniture, etc). She is fully declawed on all four paws, which puts her at extremely high risk if she were to escape from our apartment. We are taking her to Loving Care Animal Health for the spay procedure.
Serenity is one of the most gentle cats one will ever meet; she will come out and talk to you, but is semi-afraid of people at first. She was kenneled all her life up to this point, so freedom is a new experience for her. Solstice (our tiger striped cat) had a small staring contest the first day we brought her home.
We are on Social Security, so $200 is hard to come up with on short notice. We need it by the 19th so that the spay can be done ASAP. The veterinarian requires payment at the time of service, and we had to put down a $20 deposit which was not easy to come by.
