Shadow is a 9 year old Pug in Asheville , NC, who needs $2,000 for Liver Mass Removal Surgery.

Shadow is a rescue from Shelter From the Storm in Madison, WI. Her first owner passed away from cancer, and she spent three weeks at the shelter before I adopted her at age three. I have now had the joy of being her mom for six years. :) She quickly became part of my heart, and our bond grew stronger after her first big surgery for a knee injury at three when she had to relearn to walk.

Shadow was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common type of liver cancer. She has a mass on her liver that needs to be surgically removed. Her life expectancy could be significantly extended, giving us more precious years together. Without it, her prognosis is only a few months. Shadow will be traveling to the Animal Cancer Care and Research Center in Roanoke, VA!

Shadow is truly one of a kind lover & fighter. She adores treats, bones, belly rubs, and snuggles. She is gentle, loving, and loyal. She is happiest by my side, but also loves being around other kind humans and dogs. When I first adopted her, she needed knee surgery. I spent weeks teaching her to walk again, and that process created an unbreakable bond of love that we will always have between us.

This surgery is an unexpected expense that comes at a very difficult time. My emergency fund was depleted after surviving Helene in Asheville, NC, and I am unable to cover the full cost of Shadow’s urgent treatment on my own. Funds raised will be directly sent to the vet.
