Shadow is a 13 year old Shih Tzu in Saint Petersburg, FL, who needs $2,000 for Nephrectomy.

I am a Navy Veteran. My doctor authorized me to get an ESA.In 2017 I discovered Shadow at the Humane Society anx we decided to we needed each other and began our journey. Shortly after we experienced the first of many hurricanes together, Hurricane Irma. The most recent Hurricane Milton. My Shadow has hotten me through sone “ruff” times and I need him as much as he needs me now.

In the past few months Shadow has stopped eating and dropped weight.My vet noticed he was in some pain and took xrays. She discovered a tumor. After an ultrasound, we discovered a cancerous tumor attached to one of his kidneys. The kidney needs to be removed to get rid of the cancer. We have him on pain medication three times a day; helps eat a little and sometimes play with a toy.

Shadow is special and is a great ESA. He knows when I need extra TLC to get through a “ruff” time. He cuddles up with me and he gets plenty of belly rubs. He loves his belly rubs! I love when he plays with his noisy toys. One day, during an hour long phone call he continuously made his gorilla make money noises. That memory always makes me smile. During every car ride he gets his own ice water.

I need Shadow in my life, he is my life. I had some unexpected financial things come up this year and have not been able to build up my savings yet. Normally I would not ask for assistance but Shadow is worth it. My heart can not handle losing him.
