Shaggy is a 1-year-old Pitbull Mix in Longwood, FL, who needs $2,000 for Fragmented Corrinoid Process.

Shaggy came into our lives when I adopted him from a family out of an apartment. He was was about 6 months old at the time and full of puppy energy and still is. He gets along just like an annoying little brother gets along with his older sisters. Scooby and him play non-stop, and he likes to play chase and cuddle with Butterscotch and Toffee the cats when he thinks no one is looking.

Shaggy likes to go on any walk or runs you are willing to take him on. He loves playing in his own backyard but loves making the trips over to grandmas house to play in her yard with other friends. He loves the beach and swimming in the water, but always wants to make sure someone is there with him. He can be a little to energetic, jumps up on people but it come from love. He is a very loyal man!

Shaggy has never met a toy that he dislikes, in fact he loves toys so much he sometimes goes after shoes! But on some days I feel he is more cat then dog because he jumps on the back of the couch like a cat, and loves playing with all the cat toys including trying to fit in the cat tunnel, but the most recent one is playing with the laser toy where he bobs his noes on the ground where it lands.

Shaggy has been having a slight limp, we though at first it was just a pulled muscle so we took him to the vet and turns out that he has an extra piece on bone in his elbows. This is called fragmented Corrinoid Process or elbow dysplasia and is a genetic disorder common in his breed. So he needs surgery to scrape off the extra bone. They say if left untreated he could lose all function in elbow.

Overall we have some money to put towards the surgery, but we had unexpected circumstance, we were not expecting this, we just put a new roof on, we are having plumbing issues, and we were looking into pet insurance but they say it is a preexisting which just makes it hard.
