Shakira is a 16 year old American Shorthair in Bronx , NY, who needs $7,000 for Hospitalization for Diabetic Ketoacidosis.

Shakira is a former Bodega Cat. She used to work in the store where my partner Freddy(whom passed away in 2021) used to work. She has been living a happy life here in our home for 9 years after retirement form the bodega.

Shakira suddenly started losing weight about 4 weeks ago. After a vet visit & blood work we found that Shakira is diabetic. We immediately began treatment. However, she has now reached a state of diabetic ketoacidosis & needs hospitalization immediately.

Shakira is one of the sweetest kitties I've ever owned. She wants nothing but love, lots of pets, and plenty of food. She has 2 brothers that definitely annoy her but gets along with them.

It has been a huge struggle recently for all bills due to my own health struggles in the last few years . The hospitalization cost is far outside my budget.
