Shanna is a 15-year-old Chihuahua in Venice, FL, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery and medical care.

Shanna has the most heartbreaking story. When she was 15 years old, her owners surrendered her to an animal shelter. Shanna was scared, confused, and needed medical attention immediately. Being a senior dog who needed expensive veterinary treatment, she didn't stand much of a chance at being adopted, but True and Faithful Pet Rescue stepped in and saved her.

"She's one of the nicest dogs you'll ever meet and gets along with everybody," Lisa L. from the nonprofit group tells Waggle.

Shanna has a long list of medical issues the rescue is going to tackle. She has mammary tumors that must be removed; she needs dental work, a spay, and treatment for heartworm disease. Despite her condition and being surrendered as a senior dog, she's still found the strength to trust humans again.
