Shelby is a 2 year old Poodle in Saint Rose, LA, who needs $15,000 for CT Scan.

We adopted Shelby in February 2024 after her first owner, an older woman, realized her energy was a bit too much to handle. She now lives with my fiancé, our 13-year-old Yorkie, Gumbo, and me in our home. Shelby has become such a sweet and special part of our little family.

Shelby is our sweet 2-year-old toy poodle and best friend to our senior dog, Gumbo. She may have a liver shunt, which requires a CT scan and possibly surgery. We’ve spent $1,900 so far on emergency visits, bloodwork, bile acid and protein C tests, and a diabetes screen. The CT and surgery could total $15,000. We’re doing all we can to help her.

Shelby is full of personality—she kicks her feet after pooping to let us know it’s treat time, knows tons of tricks, and follows us everywhere. She loves cuddling on me or her dad and adores her big brother, Gumbo. She has never met a stranger. She wants to be on your lap! She’s tiny, but her presence is huge.

We’re getting married soon and have already paid for the wedding, which has depleted any extra money we had saved—with no chance of refunds. Shelby’s $15,000 medical emergency was completely unexpected, and we need help giving her the care she needs.
