Shena is a 16 year old Chihuahua in Miami, FL, who needs $2,000 for EKG to Check on her Heart, X-Rays, Specialist.

Shena came into my life by random chance: my dad, while on a delivery for his job with medical supplies. My dad found her as the runt of her family's litter, and the family who had bred her mom wanted to be rid of her. I was scared of dogs for such a long time, but then to my surprise, found Shena waiting for me when I got back home from high school.She lives with me and my mom now, 16 years.

My dog tends to have some stomach and heart issues. She was born with a bad heart, but we were not told that when we first adopted her from a house. until a vet visit many years later. She had two hernias removed in 2017, and now on her stomach, something similar seems to be forming again, affecting her ability to eat and move properly. The Coconut Grove Animal Clinic is her main doctor now.

My dog is the most grumpy, anxious, neurotic little creature around, and I would not have it any other way. She makes me laugh and smile so much with just the way she moves into my room to remind me of food or taking her out for walks or bringing me her toys. She makes my mom laugh, especially after tough workdays, her tail wagging furiously and so happy to play some more.

I have been, unfortunately, job hunting since June 2023, and so far no luck, beyond gaining certifications. Closed a retirement account and used up all savings to help out at home. My pet being healthy again would give me the strength to keep fighting, to keep going.
