Shiloh was abandoned at an airport by her owners, left behind when something went wrong. They flew away, and the poor dog, confused and heartbroken, ran towards other people for help—because she was trusting and used to being cared for. However, the people she found weren't kind; they were cruel.

Instead of helping her or even just moving her off the runway, where animals are prohibited for safety reasons, they attacked her with a sharp hoe. The blade hit her neck, leaving a deep wound on the side, narrowly missing her arteries and spine. In pain, she crawled under parked cars near the entrance gate, where she hid for three days, slowly growing weaker. She was dying as people walked past.

On the fourth day, a dispatcher who returned from vacation noticed her and called us. The wound is horrifying; miraculously, her vital neck arteries weren’t damaged and she hadn’t bled out. She was taken into surgery right away, where the doctors cleaned the necrotic tissue, stitched her up, and inserted drainage tubes. Further examinations ruled out internal injuries and viral infections.
