About this campaign
Shota has spent 10 years simply asking for the chance to be safe and cared for. Now, he needs help with something he can’t overcome on his own.
After being rescued by Baw Baw Animal Welfare, Shota was taken to the veterinarian, where they discovered a concerning lump on his front leg. While it may look small, the growth could be a serious form of cancer. Right now, there’s no way to know for certain until it can be removed and tested.
The good news is that surgery offers Shota the best chance. Removing the mass will not only help relieve his discomfort, but it will also allow the veterinary team to determine exactly what they’re dealing with and what treatment, if any, he may need next.
Every day this mass remains, the uncertainty grows. Shota deserves the opportunity to move comfortably, heal, and enjoy the years he has ahead without this frightening burden.
Your donation can help cover the cost of his surgery and give this sweet senior dog the chance he deserves. Every gift brings Shota one step closer to a healthier future. Please help Baw Baw give him that chance today.

Sweet Shota continues to make encouraging progress, and we’re so happy to see him moving in the right direction.
After everything this senior boy endured during his 10 years without the safety and care he deserved, every positive change means so much. His surgical wound has healed well, and he continues to have a healthy appetite with normal drinking, urination, and bowel movements—wonderful signs that his body is doing well overall.
Shota is still receiving treatment and close monitoring for the skin rash he developed. His caregivers at Baw Baw Animal Welfare are making sure he gets the medications, attention, and supportive care he needs as he continues to regain his strength.
For the first time in a decade, Shota knows what it feels like to be safe, cared for, and loved. ❤️
His journey isn’t over yet, though. His ongoing veterinary care, medications, treatment, and follow-up needs continue to create expenses for Baw Baw Animal Welfare.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation today to help Shota continue his recovery. Every gift, no matter the size, helps provide the care this sweet senior boy needs as he finally gets the chance to enjoy the comfortable life he has waited so long for.
And if you can’t donate, please share Shota’s story. Your support can help reach someone who can give.
After 10 years of waiting, Shota deserves to know that his best days are still ahead. 🐾❤️🩹
