About this campaign
Stray Dog Support recently rescued Shousha, a young donkey about five years old, after he was abandoned in the desert outside Cairo. His owner had grown frustration with his injured leg and, no longer seeing any “use” for him, left him overworked, starving, and alone to die.
When SDS found him, Shousha was extremely hungry and clearly had not eaten for a long time.
He was terrified of humans approaching him, a sign of the abuse he endured. In addition to his broken leg, he has another painful wound on his shoulder, and his condition was severe enough that his smell revealed how long he had been suffering without care.
Shousha’s health needs urgent and ongoing treatment. He will need a new cast on his broken leg for three to four weeks, along with a multitude of medication and good food.
The total budget required for his recovery is $1500.
Shousha is now safe and recovering with their partner The Egyptian Society For Defending Animal Rights in Cairo, but they cannot provide the care he needs without your support. Every contribution helps give him the chance to heal, trust again, and live a life free from suffering.
If you are able, please help us cover Shousha’s treatment and care. He has already endured so much. Together, we can give him the future he deserves. Thank you for your continued support.
