Sienna Survived the Attack—But Pregnant, Alone, and Facing $10K in Care, She Needs You

“Hello! For over a year, I've been feeding some stray dogs daily. Yesterday, three of them got into a fight and left the oldest one badly injured. She looks really bad. She can barely walk.”

This was the heartbreaking message This is Houston received—just one of many we get every single day. But when we saw the condition of this poor girl, the rescue knew we had to step in.

We named her Sienna. She is only about 2 years old, and her short life has already been filled with hardship. She was pregnant when she was attacked and sustained a deep puncture wound in her abdomen that left her bleeding heavily. X-rays revealed fluid and oxygen in her abdomen, a life-threatening situation. Sienna was rushed into emergency surgery overnight.

Her abdominal wound was closed, and while she was under anesthesia, she was spayed—her pregnancy had to be terminated to save her life. She also has multiple pelvic fractures that will require further diagnostics, and she still faces a long road ahead: a CT scan, cherry-eye surgery, heartworm and ehrlichiosis treatment, and potentially hip surgery.

Despite everything, Sienna is fighting to live. She is gentle, resilient, and wants nothing more than the chance she’s never had—to know safety, kindness, and love.

Sweet Sienna has come such a long way since her rescue last month. When she was first found, she had been brutally attacked by other dogs and was left with life-threatening injuries. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Sienna was able to receive two critical surgeries that saved her life. Today, we’re thrilled to share that Sienna is thriving in her loving foster home! She’s continuing her recovery with heartworm treatment and soaking up all the love, care, and cuddles she can get from her amazing foster parents.

Beautiful Sienna has made a full recovery!

After surviving the unimaginable — a brutal dog attack, emergency surgery, and a long, difficult recovery — this brave girl is finally getting her happy ending. Sienna is completely healed and will soon be starting an adoption trial with a wonderful family!

Her new mom owns an RV and travels all over the country, so Sienna will get to be a traveling pup, exploring new places and living the life of adventure and love she’s always deserved.
