Meet Simba

Simba is my 1-year-and-7-month-old male American Shorthair cat, and he means everything to our family. I adopted him as a kitten along with his sister because I couldn’t bear to separate them. They’ve grown up together, and Simba has always been a sweet, playful, and loving presence in our home.

Why Simba Needs Help

Simba is currently hospitalized after an emergency visit revealed that he ingested an unknown object. X-rays showed that the object has caused an impaction in his stomach, preventing normal bowel movement. This condition is serious and required immediate veterinary care.

He is currently being treated at VEG Animal Hospital in Larkspur, California, where he is staying overnight for hospitalization, intravenous fluids, monitoring, and supportive care. The veterinary team is working to rehydrate him and closely monitor his condition in hopes that the obstruction will pass on its own.

Urgency of Care

At this time, the goal is to avoid surgery. However, if Simba does not have bowel movement and the obstruction does not resolve, surgery may become necessary to save his life. His care is urgent, and treatment costs are accumulating due to diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, and continuous monitoring.
