Simon is a 6 year old Sphynx in Apex, NC, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Rescue for Sudden Heart Failure.

I got Simon as a baby in 2019 from a woman who raised sphynx cats and believed no one would want him. This was due to the fact that he got an infection early and lost one of his eyes. We were told that if we were “willing” to accept him as he was she would give him to me for substantially less. He has been here every day as my illness has progressed and has genuinely been like a little angel

5 days ago he went into severe respiratory distress and we rushed him to Veterinary Emergency Group. They said he has heart failure. He had lots of fluid built up in his lungs and needed rescue oxygen overnight while they got him started on medication to pull the excess fluid off and help his heart beat stronger. No one was sure he would make it but I wasn’t going to give up on him without trying

He’s been my little buddy for 6 years and he never lets me be sad alone. If I cry he will come find me and give me head nuzzles and healing purrs. He’s very talkative and I call it his little Simon Song! He’s an absolute snuggle bug and we both get cold easily so we share lots of blankets! He refuses to eat any wet food but he likes soggy watery dry food for some reason!

The bill to save him was $4,134. My grandma, dad, and husband pulled the money together but we are all worried. My grandma is also moving in with us because she lost her job and this took a lot of her severance money that she needed for the move.
