Sir Winston is a 4-year-old Boston Terrier in Bonita Springs, FL, who needs $2,000 for Bilateral hind limb amputation (double back leg amputation).

Sir Winston was born deaf and has been in and out of foster homes and rescues for most of his young life. Two years ago, Sir Winston was scheduled to be euthanized, but thanks to a couple of veterinarians with huge hearts, and the efforts of a local rescue, he was given another chance at life.. When I came across his story, I knew in that moment, that I had to adopt him and give him the best life

For the past two years, we have been learning ASL together and we have worked through some of his biggest fears. We have had countless adventures together - camping, biking, boating, paddleboarding, traveling… and he has been learning how to “dog”. The bond we have build has had a profound impact on me, and I can’t imagine my life without him.

Sir Winston was born deaf, which has made our relationship unique. We have been learning ASL together, and he has been a quick study. However, sometimes he doesn’t want to listen, which means he won’t look at me when I’m signing. That’s his way of having “selective hearing”. He was also born with a jaw that causes his tongue to stick out at all times. I find this irresistibly cute!

Earlier this year, Sir Winston was attacked and the injuries sustained, has damaged the blood supply and nerve function in his back legs. For the past few weeks, he has undergone multiple surgeries and has been in the ICU at Florida Vet Referral. He has lost a significant amount of skin and muscle on his back legs, as the damaged blood supply continues to kill off all of the healthy tissue.

The cost of Sir Winston’s treatments and surgeries has exceeded $12,000 at this point and will require another $7,000-$10,000 for a double back leg amputation that will save his life. I have spent everything I have at this point and desperately need help.
