Sitka is a 3-year-old Blue Heeler/Australian Shepard in VERNONIA, OR, who needs $2,000 for TPLO repair.

Sitka was a rescue, we rescued him on December 31, 2019. I just had lost my mother a few months before that to metastatic breast cancer, my daughter had been begging me to rescue this dog but I said no, as I was trying to take care of my mom. Then my daughter told me that they kept him in the crate all day, and that he was laying in his own urine and feces, I said bring him over and he stayed.

Sitka is a very active dog, he loves to play, run, fetch, bark. He knows how to sit, shake, and lay down. Since he was abused he is very hard at trusting, and he pretty much only trusts me, he sleeps right next to me on the floor by my bed. He is always facing towards the door incase he has to protect me, he follows me everywhere.

Sitka is special because he was abused, he makes me smile just writing about him. He actually sneezes after you give him a good pet, it actually makes you laugh. He loves our Siamese kitten, and plays very gentle with her, they make a cute couple, he loves to snuggle up on him, and he is very patient with her.

Sitka has a Cranial Cruciate tear, its kind of like an ACL tear on a human, it is on his left knee. DR Hope will be doing the surgery, she is at Cornelius Veterinary clinic in Cornelius Oregon. She is a great vet, she has treated all of our animals, I would recommend her to anyone. He will eventually need both knees done.

I lost my job in late January 2022, I'm desperately looking, and really upset that I can't afford this surgery. I also never ask for help and this is a huge deal for me. He needs the surgery before going lame, he is right now in pain.
