Sky is a 8 year old Labrador Retriever in Fairland, IN, who needs $2,000 for Remove the TPLO Plate.

We rescued Sky at 4 weeks old from a friend who could not care for her. We have had Sky for over 8 years now. We have also rescued Annie, who is 9 years old. We named her Sky because her eyes will turn dark blue when she gets excited to play. We named Annie after me. They love to play and take walks in the park.

Sky had TPLO surgery on her left knee, and the plate has become infected; the skin around it will open up, and she has to be on antibiotics for it to heal. This just keeps recurring over and over. She has to have the plate removed to get better. It is a one-time surgery, and it will take care of this issue.

Sky loves her rescued sister, Annie. Sky loves to play ball and laser. She is very sassy and makes demands when it's time to go outside. I had spine surgery a few years ago, and she helped me go up and down the steps; she let me hold on to her so I would not fall. She looks after Annie. Sometimes, Annie gets afraid to go outside, and Sky will assure her its ok.

We are on SS disability, and it is very hard to pay the basic bills. When things broke or needed to be replaced, I would use a credit card, even for the vet visits, because I had no other way to pay for it. Sky is my world. I want her to be healthy and out of pain.
