About this campaign
Skye came into my life as a stray at the shelter at only 6 weeks old, non weight bearing on her front right leg. We thought she had gotten hit by a car, unfortunately it turned out she had a growth disease. For the past 2 years I have been working with her Vet & Physical Therapist to make her better. We were on the mends until December, then she took a turn for the worst.
Skye is a huge part of our household. I am a volunteer for a 501C3 dog rescue and am always bringing home sick and injured dogs. She helps teach them how to dog again and love on them like a great big sister. She loves everyone she meets. She will talk to you all day if you let her and tell you all about it.
Skye will make anyone love her. She is the sweetest, loudest talker, best friend a girl could have. She likes to lounge in the sun upside down in the grass. She loves water, whether it the lake or river or hose.
Skye was found limping and taken to the vet at 6 weeks old, turns out she has a degenerative growth disease, that prevents her bones from growing properly. We fought with 103-105 degree fevers, screams of pain, constant worry. She has had several vet visits @ Family Petcare with Dr. Morton and several visits with her favorite person, Physical Therapist Jennifer Bellis @ Cooper Animal Rehab.
I have paid several thousand of dollars in the last 6 months to try and help her to continue walking and being comfortable. My debt is high due to house issues and vet bills. I am a single woman on one income raising a 17 year old with no financial assistance.
