Skye is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier in Warwick, RI, who needs $1,041 for Heartworm Treatment.

Skye came into our rescue last year when she was found tied to the shelter door in Arkansas. She was vetted and taken in by Hannah who loved that pup dearly! Hannah ended up "foster failing" on Skye right away! Skye is calm, sweet and hilarious all at the same time, we can't imagine anyone would could give this adorable little house hippo up!

Skye is a complete character and charms everyone she meets! She spends her days lounging around her mom's work and hanging with the staff at any event she goes to. Some of her best friends include any and all dogs she meets, tiny domesticated bunnies (whom she hikes with!). Skye does have a fear though...bugs! Anytime she comes across one of those insects, she books it the other way!

Skye is special because of just how amazing her personality is. She has the ability to make any and everyone feel welcome and loved. One of my favorite moments was seeing her gently rocking herself in her mom's hammock while they were out camping. She had this glimmer in her eye that you just knew she was cracking herself up!

Skye was fully vetted and heartworm tested before she left Arkansas and kept on heartworm preventative by her new adopted owner, but unfortunately at her last vet visit it was discovered that she was heartworm positive. Skye has pet insurance but unfortunately it does not cover heartworm treatment, even with perfect prevention use. She is currently being seen at Hill & Harbor Vet Clinic in EG, RI

Rhode Home Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to covering all medical costs of adopted dogs through us, but we can only do so with donations! Skye and her mom have been wonderful volunteers with us and we would love to cover this unexpected bill for her.
