Slinky is a 13 year old Dachshund in Garland, TX, who needs $1,000 for Ultrasound with 1-2 Site Sample Collection.

We adopted him from PetSmart many years ago when a woman was trying to adopt out 3 of her dachshunds. He has been a fixture in our life ever since and has slowly grown into a grumpy old man to his siblings.

On January 16, 2025, we rushed Slinky to the Thrive Pet Healthcare after he stopped eating and began wobbling. We thought we were saying goodbye to him. He had previously been diagnosed with disseminated lymphoma, so we feared the worst.

However, after a thorough exam, the vet discovered that Slinky has a fever and a large, hard mass on the side of his neck, and further tests revealed an enlarged liver and spleen. While lymphoma was not observed at this time, the vet strongly recommended an abdominal ultrasound with sample collection to rule out cancer in these enlarged organs.

The cost for this procedure is $950 to $1,000, depending on the number of samples taken. Unfortunately, as a family with only one income, we are not in the financial position to afford this and possible treatment. Please help us get Slinky the treatment he needs.
