About this campaign
Slugger is my psychiatric service dog, and we have been together since 2017. I suffer from severe panic attacks, and I was diagnosed with Panic disorder shortly before finding Slugger.
He has helped me more times than I can count, and I want to be able to now help him. My knee injury could not of come at a worse time.
It's just Slugger and I who live alone together. We are always together, and he is my best friend. He loves to meet new people, go on walks, sleep, of course eat. He is extremely intelligent, and it seems like he truly understands a lot of what I say. He learns new tricks extremely easily, although loves to be stubborn at times.
Slugger is my psychiatric service dog, and has the same rights as any service animal. He can fly with me on airplanes and lives with me for free under the law. He is not an emotional support dog. He extremely intuitive, intelligent, and loving. He can sense my anxiety and comes to lay with me whenever my anxiety gets difficult to manage.
Slugger is scheduled for emergent dental surgery on May 24th at North Seattle Veterinary Clinic. I was told in March that his peridontal disease was now stage 4, and surgery shouldn't be put off any longer. 2 weeks ago it became emergent when Slugger stopped eating entirely for 3 days, and was put on multiple medications.
I was saving up for surgery, but on April 12th I dislocated my knee while working out, and it resulted in torn ligaments, a patella fracture, and a severe sprain that were all diagnosed in an MRI of my knee. I am now on unpaid medical leave.
