Smokey is a 9-year-old Staffordshire Terrier in Lake Forest, CA, who needs $1,460 for a mass removal.

Smokey has been in my life for 8 years as she was adopted at a year old by my daughter. She is a Staffie and so was a special needs adoption at the time, just due to her breed. She has always been a great dog. Very sweet and she loves people. Currently, due to Covid , emotional and mental crisis issues ,my daughter and her husband lost their place and separated. I am caring for Smokey.

Smokey is a sweetheart. She loves to cuddle and actually sit on your lap! I have spent a lot of time watching TV with her during this lockdown time. I have two small dogs, a poodle mix and a terrier mix, that Smokey sees during the day. Although they don’t play together, my little dogs are yippy, they all bark in unison at people coming to our gate!

I am on social security and do not have credit enough for financing. My daughter is having a crisis and is not working and is not in the city. My son in law moved out of state. So I am trying to get Smokey’s surgery set up ASAP as she has had this tumor awhile now.

Smokey has had a mast cell tumor removed a few years ago. When my son in law dropped Smokey off for me to care for, I noticed a lump on her leg, He had it checked out and didn’t relay the diagnosis correctly. This was during the pandemic and I have a condition that makes me vulnerable. Anyway the lump is a cancerous mast cell tumor. The vet is Dr Jette at South Orange County Animal Hospital

Smokey is a real ham when it comes to attention. She loved going to the vet just to be the center of attention! She loves going out on walks. She loves playing with her stuffed animals 🧸 and has yet to tear them. My poodle does more chewing on her stuffed toys than Smokey. Smokey is a loving 🥰 funny and happy dog. She deserves to have a stable environment and a long healthy life.
