Smokey, a 3.5-year-old mixed breed, joined our family from Oklahoma after my fiancé’s aunt passed away. We drove to get Smokey and she bonded with us instantly, becoming a life line for my daughter, who is high functioning autistic. Smokey lives in a raised ranch with her 2 kids,parents, & her best friend, Bandit. She’s a cherished part of our busy, loving home and brings joy to everyone she meets

Smokey injured herself while playing with the kids in the backyard a CRUCIATE LIGAMENT INJURY is suspected according to her veterinarian at Central Park Veterinary Clinic. An X-ray is needed to confirm the diagnosis, which is estimated to cost $500. The vet is 80% certain it's an cruciate ligament injury, and we’re preparing for the treatment she may need to get back to her happy, active self.

Smokey is a special part of our family. She loves playing with toys and her best friend, Bandit, our other dog. Like 'Smokey and the Bandit,' she’s Smokey while Bandit is the mischievous one, keeping the kids laughing. They go everywhere with us—camping, road trips, and lake days. Her playful, loving nature brings joy to our lives every day and we couldn't imagine life without her!
