Smokie Norton is a community cat who recently showed up at my apartment complex. When I first saw him, he appeared healthy but was being harassed by a dominant neighborhood tom. Over the next couple of days, he began limping and crying in pain. I started feeding him, gained his trust, and worked for days to safely trap him so he could get medical help

Smokie Norton has a serious leg wound consistent with an infected bite injury from a fight with another cat. These wounds can become life-threatening without prompt treatment. He needs an exam, wound cleaning, antibiotics, and pain management. Smokie is being taken to VEG ER for Pets for evaluation and treatment.

Although Smokie is a stray, he is gentle, observant, and clearly trying to survive despite his pain. He follows from a distance, watches carefully, and slowly learned to trust me enough to come near the trap. His resilience and quiet determination stood out, and once injured, he continued seeking help instead of hiding
