Snoopy was found scared, alone, and emaciated.

No one knows how long this poor dog has been fighting for his life—or how he lived as long as he did.

Someone finally rushed Snoopy to an animal hospital, and the staff contacted Pet Angel Fund.

"It is a miracle that Snoopy was taken in when he was, as he had sepsis, a life-threatening response to an infection," Michelle H., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle.

Snoopy, who weighs just 24 pounds, is now hospitalized in critical condition.

"He has a voracious appetite, which is incredibly encouraging," Michelle says. "He is timid but very gentle. He is learning that people can be trusted thanks to the wonderful care he is receiving."
