About this campaign
Snowflake was a rescue. A year ago her owner passed and she was being taken care of by an abusive son. In turn he turned her and her sister, mom and dad out. They were picked up from a rescue in South Carolina who in turn brought them up to me in Upstate NY. I've had her about a year now with out any success in raising funds for her eyes.
I live on my own, but with my parents next door. She goes in between our two homes as my parents own a football fenced in yard for the dogs. It's just me and my two senior parents. Snowflake does wonderful with everyone. She is timid and shy around new people, but does warm up after she gets to know you.
Snowflake is my beastie. I was told she was aggressive, but on her 2nd night with me, she decides she's home and tries to sit on my face. She's a great dog all the way around. She does have some jealousy issues regarding her sister, but so far I can keep those under control. Snowflake got me through the time when he sister flew the coop a year ago. Her sister was MIA for 26 days last March/April.
Snowflake needs entropion surgery for both her eyes. Here in Upstate NY, for one eye the surgery costs $1500. Her sister got hers done when she was spayed through the rescue. In the last picture is where you can see her tear stains on her face. I had recently taken her to the vets due to not wanting to eat. At the time she had Lyme disease.
I currently take care of my senior father who suffers from Alzheimer's 24/7. I used to rescue a lot in the past and had quite the herd of critters. I've since have been weaning down due to vet costs. My job does not pay well and I can barely afford to stay afloat.
