About this campaign

Sokka came to us as a puppy from a local rescue. His mama had been picked up and was pregnant.
He lives with his two favorite kids and two grown ups! Often sokka can be found pretending to be weaker than a six year old while playing tug a war, eating crayons that got left out, or snuggling with his owner Madi.

Sokka unfortunately had a genetic issue of weak hips and weak ligaments. When he was just 1 years old he began to limp and rapidly stopped using his right leg altogether. It was found he has torn the ligaments in his knee.
He had a surgery to repair the knee and recovered well.
Unfortunately since then the site of some of the instruments has repeatedly become inflamed and infected.

Sokka is essentially a service dog for his owner, who battles mental health issues. He is remarkable at helping them through panic attacks when needed. He also is simply a family dog who has two children who adore him!

Pet care is crazy expensive. This is sadly not the first crazy expensive surgery sokka has had, but hopefully it will be the last he will need.
The orthopedic specialist is confident that he will make a full recovery if we get the instruments out of his knee.
